BEP contribute to animated movie soundtrack

The previously unreleased Black Eyed Peas track “For the People” will anchor the soundtrack to the animated film “Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie,” due Aug. 10 via RCA. Also featured on the set is “It’s Over,” the debut from five-piece student group Fatty Koo, signed to Columbia following a recording session on the John Lennon Songwriting Contest’s Educational Bus tour in Columbus, Ohio.

The majority of the 12-track album consists of songs by studio musicians to soundtrack the character Yugi Muto’s encounters with various monsters. The theme song of the “Yu-Gi-Oh!” WB television series is included as a bonus track.

The Warner Bros. film will open Aug. 13 in U.S. theaters. For more information on the franchise, visit the U.S. “Yu-Gi-Oh!” Web site.

Black Eyed Peas, Chingy, Coheed and Cambria, Jadakiss, Melissa Auf Der Maur, the Ying Yang Twins and Yellowcard are starring in a series of voter initiative public service announcements for Fuse. The spots come as part of the cable music channel’s Electile Dysfunction 2004 campaign, which kicks off today (July 26) to coincide with the beginning of the Democratic National Convention in Boston, and will continue through the Nov. 2 U.S. presidential election.
