03/28/2004: "Bif Naked, Black Eyed Peas And Gob Hit The Slopes In Whistler"
Every year, Whistler B.C. hosts The Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival — an event that combines skiing, snowboarding and music. One of the biggest attractions at the festival is the DKNY/JEANS Outdoor Concert Series. This is a free series of concerts that take place on every afternoon during the 10-day festival. Bands that played at the event in previous years include Nickelback, Pennywise, MixMaster Mike and Matthew Good Band.
"This year’s line-up is awesome," said the festival’s entertainment agent, Derek Arrowsmith in a statement. "[The series] brings together top talent with the best emerging artists in a spectacular outdoor venue, and best of all, thousands of fans get to see these acts for free."
This year’s line-up includes Bif Naked, Black Eyed Peas, Gob, Prevail and Moka Only of Swollen Members and Sweatshop Union.
At night, the Kokanee Freeride Club Series features up-and-coming bands from all across Canada playing in 10 different clubs and bars throughout Whistler every night during the festival. Tons of DJs and beer keep the parties going to the wee hours of the morning. Bands and schedules will be available in a few weeks.
The festival also includes photography and film competitions, a hockey tournament, a dog show and of course, a ton of skiing, snowboarding and extreme sports challenges. The festival takes place between April 16 to 25.
