"...[Janet] Jackson's repugnant showing set the stage for the Black Eyed Peas to bring the crowd back to life, and they did so with wonderful zeal. The group's funk-doused hip-hop was cranked out by a live wire of a band, while the quartet showed they didn't need any cadre of dancers because they have their own moves. Former Wild Orchid singer Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson, with an eye-popping, gyrating, belly dancing-like midriff and gusty voice, is more than a match for her male bandmates, especially in the vocal duel of "Shut Up."
